Aluminum sulfate for swimming pool water treatment is a milky white crystalline, granular, or powdered substance with a clear sweet taste. It is stable in the air and is a widely used industrial experimental reagent, usually mixed with edible alkali (i.e. potassium aluminum sulfate dodecahydrate). Aluminum sulfate is often used as a coagulant to purify domestic water and wastewater (such as cleaning swimming pools)

The water in the swimming pool may become turbid due to various reasons, but if it is due to excessive minerals, aluminum sulfate can be used to clean the swimming pool. These types of chemicals have a positive charge after melting in water, which can attract negatively charged debris and turn them into flocculent substances that sink to the bottom, making cleaning much easier.

In the treatment of swimming pool water, inorganic coagulants are commonly used, while organic coagulants are less commonly used.

Aluminum sulfate for swimming pools has two forms: solid and liquid, with the commonly used being solid. There are two types of solid-state: refined and crude. The hydrolysis process is slow, and the suitable water temperature is 20-40 ℃

Refined aluminium sulphate for swimming pools is a white crystalline substance, containing 50% to 52% anhydrous aluminum sulfate, about 15% AL2O3, with a specific gravity about 1.62, and an impurity content of no more than 0.5%, making it relatively expensive; The impurity content of crude aluminum sulfate for swimming pools is not more than 2.4%, the quality is unstable, the price is low, but there is a lot of waste residue during use.

The pH value is between 6.5 and 7.2, and the coagulation effect is good. However, when the water temperature is low, hydrolysis is difficult and the acidity is high, so the corrosiveness is strong
