Aluminium Sulphate 17

According to the Industry standard HG/T2225-2018, aluminum sulfate content, especially aluminum oxide content, can be classified into 15.6% aluminum sulfate, 15.8% aluminIum sulfate, 16% aluminum sulphate, and 17% aluminum sulphate. Among them, 15.6% -15.8% aluminium sulfate usually referr to industrial grade low iron aluminum sulfate, with iron content generally below 0.5%.

16% or more is generally iron free aluminum sulfate, but some industries require the aluminum oxide content to reach or even exceed 17%, which is what we know the 17% aluminum sulfate in the market.

The production process of 17% aluminum sulfate is exactly the same as that of ordinary aluminum sulfate, except that the feeding ratio of aluminum hydroxide needs to be increased and the reaction time needs to be longer. In the cooling crystallization stage, 17% aluminum sulfate requires a longer cooling crystallization time. At the same time, compared to 16% aluminum sulfate, 17% aluminum sulphate has a higher alumina content and a brighter color. Due to the higher alumina content, the amount of crystallization water inside 17 aluminum sulphate decreases, which resulting 17% aluminum sulfate more brittle and even powdering phenomenon.

1. Used as a paper sizing agent in the papermaking industry to improve the water resistance and permeability of paper;

2. After being dissolved in water, it can coagulate into large flocculents that can be removed from the water, thus being used as a coagulant for water supply and wastewater;

3. Used as a purifying agent for turbid water, it can also be used as a precipitant, fixative, filler, etc. Used as an anti sweat cosmetic ingredient (astringent) in cosmetics;

4. In the fire protection industry, it forms foam extinguishing agent with baking soda and foaming agent;

5. Analysis reagents, mordants, tanning agents, oil decolorizing agents, wood preservatives;

6. Albumin pasteurization stabilizer (including liquid or frozen whole eggs, egg whites or yolks);

7. Can be used as a raw material to prepare artificial gemstones;

In the fuel industry, it is used as a precipitant in the production of chrome yellow and lake dyes, as well as as a fixing agent and filler.
